Distribution Platform Operating Model

Built scalable operating model and incentive framework for a $200M private equity-backed distribution platform.

Our client is a recently formed, private equity-backed platform distribution business. Two great brands had come together, leadership was blended, and the strategy was clear. But was the organization designed correctly to succeed?

The Challenge

The CEO was grappling with managing the larger business, building a new unified culture while planning for continued significant growth, and creating an operating model and organizational design that was purpose-built to achieve the significant operational and financial milestones expected by both the leadership and the Private Equity sponsor.

How Montis HR Helped

Our focus was to establish clarity with the leadership team on how value is created in the business and what must be fiercely protected as a business grows. We also wrestled down what must be regional and what can be more centralized.

Once agreed, we facilitated multiple sessions with the leadership team to build an operating model, corresponding organizational design, and an overall talent strategy that supported the business achieving its goals.

The Result

The new organizational design has rolled out across the enterprise, and that has led to some other activity. For example, we helped them design a compensation philosophy and a phased rollout across the organization, starting with across commercial areas that most urgently needed to work in new collaborative ways.
