Leadership evaluation and cultural integration accelerated growth for a $100m+ services platform.

Our client is a middle market private equity firm that entered due diligence with a $100m+ highly-regionalized services business, looking to establish a new platform for future growth. The existing business had little corporate leadership or cross-region functions. Our client needed help pre-acquisition to evaluate the target’s leadership team, identify key talent risks, uncover regional cultural differences within the existing business, and work with the new CEO to create an optimal future-state operating model and organizational design

The Challenge

The evaluation of the leadership team and identification of critical risks in the deal is a normal part of pre-acquisition HR diligence. The challenge in this project was that the new CEO was stepping up from being a regional leader into a newly created role and hadn’t fully formed his view on the organization.

How Montis HR Helped

Our role was to challenge the CEO’s thinking and to connect his vision to a broader organizational design that optimized value creation and organizational effectiveness.

We facilitated a series of individual and group sessions to identify the critical core of the business where value is created, challenged and stretched ideas on applying resources to those value-creators, and make some hard decisions on an operating model that could be centralized in order to drive additional value creation.
